Under general direction provides leadership and assumes management responsibility for the direction, coordination, integration, and implementation of technology across the district. Reports to the Superintendent.
Develop and implement a strategic vision for the use of technology in the district in both the academic and infrastructural systems.
Maintain knowledge of and communicate current research findings and forecasts related to the effective use of technology in the school’s educational program.
Provide current, cutting-edge information to support decision-making on academic and administrative technology matters.
Oversee the District’s technology department, guides, supports, mentors, monitors, and evaluates technology team members to ensure that each them serves as a strong leader and creates an environment of shared knowledge and purpose among the technology team.
Direct the installation of technology systems and tools (e.g. hardware, software, systems, wiring, specialized applications, and tools) for the purpose of ensuring the safe, timely, and efficient installation of technology equipment and services.
Maintain technology equipment and systems (e.g. servers, telephone systems, intercoms, alarms, surveillance cameras, software applications, and network) for the purpose of ensuring that systems are functioning properly and effectively in support of district administrative and educational operations.
Manage procurement, inventory, and surplus of technology equipment, systems, and related services for the purpose of ensuring that all technology purchases for goods and/or services are consistent with the district’s technology objectives, and that equipment is properly inventoried or surpluses consistent with local, district, and state regulations.
Monitor technology budget and expenditures for the purpose of ensuring that allocations are accurate and expenses are within budget limits and that fiscal practices and district policies are followed.
Research outside funding opportunities and grants for the purpose of providing additional funding to enhance technology within the district.
Supervise assigned technology staff for the purpose of maximizing the efficiency of the work force and meeting operational requirements.
Support the implementation of operational and educational technology initiatives.
Communicates technology related activities in a timely manner.
Respond willingly to emergency situations outside of the standard work schedule.
Comply with applicable District, state, local, and federal laws, rules, and regulations.
Keep abreast of changes and developments in the profession by attending professional meetings, reading professional journals and other publications, and discussing problems of mutual interest with others in the field.
Presents a positive image of the Lee County School District at all times.
Interacts with others in a respectful and cooperative manner at all times.
Willingly performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or required.
