Music Teacher

General Purpose: Plan, organize and implement an arts program in a learning
environment that guides and encourages Libertas Academy Colleton students to
develop and fulfill their highest potential.

Main Job Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities:
• Plan, prepare, and deliver activities that facilitate active learning experiences that align
with South Carolina state standards and LAC’s mission and focus.
• Collaborate with general education teachers on how to incorporate the arts in daily
lessons • Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities
• Maintain a classroom environment that is conducive to learning
• Administer school-wide assessments and use data to inform instruction • Identify and
select resources and methods to meet students' varying needs
• Use relevant educational and/or assistive technology to support instruction
• Observe and evaluate student's performance and development
• Evaluate student work and provide appropriate feedback
• Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development
• Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by law, district
policies, and school regulations
• Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and
procedures
• Maintain discipline following the directions and disciplinary systems of the school
• Participate in department and school meetings, parent meetings, and professional
development
• Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents
regarding student performance and needs
• Keep updated with developments in the subject area, teaching resources, and
methods and make relevant changes to instructional plans and activities

• Adhere to LAC’s school policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned

Job Skills & Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Arts or Related field
• South Carolina State Certification preferred.
