Physical Education/Health Teacher

Position Purpose

To promote the health and wellness of LLCS students through teaching SC Health and Physical Education State Standards.

Position Responsibilities

● Plans PE and health programming, with a whole-child approach, that strives to meet the individual needs and abilities of students
● Employs instructional strategies and tools that are most appropriate for teaching SC physical education and heath state standards
● Nurtures a classroom environment that is respectful and teaches character development
● Establishes clear objectives for all lessons and activities
● Incorporates leadership and team building into activities
● Frequently and consistently assesses student progress
● Utilizes instructional technology in a way that supports student learning
● Partners with school administration in implementing all policies outlined in the LLCS Parent/Guardian and Student Handbook 
● Maintains professionalism with colleagues, students, and families
● Attends faculty meetings and team meetings and serves on staff committees as required

Education Requirements

● Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education or related educational field
● SC Teacher Certification
○ If not currently certified in SC, employees must commit to obtaining certification or enrolling in SCDE
approved alternative certification program within one calendar year from the hire date.
