Duties: Discusses the comprehensive school counseling program work plan with the school administrators and the supervising director to work collaboratively with staff to implement a comprehensive school counseling program. Provides leadership and collaborates with other educators in the school-wide integration of the State Guidance curriculum standards for student development. Implements developmentally appropriate and prevention-oriented group activities to meet student needs and school goals. Incorporates into the comprehensive school counseling program life skills that students need to be successful in the twenty-first century. Assists all students, individually or in groups, with developing academic, career and personal social skills, goals, and plans. Accurately and appropriately interprets and utilizes student data. Collaborates with parents/guardians and educators to assist with educational, career, and life planning.
Qualifications: Masters' Degree and Certification by the SC Department of Education in Guidance-Elementary or Secondary or Associate Guidance-Secondary or Secondary Advance, and two years experience teaching or counseling with individuals with disabilities. This position may require communication modalities dependent upon employment placement.
