Duties: Directs, monitors, and evaluates all components of special education programming across the SCSDB district. Areas include, but not are limited to compliance and all applicable SCSDB policies, state regulations, and federal laws as they relate to special educational programming, IEPs, evaluations/re-evaluations, and all related documentations; students attendance and truancy: guardianship; age of majority concerns, homebound/homebased services; ESY program, surrogate parents, hearing officers: disciplinary suspensions, expulsions, and manifestation determinations; positive behavior supports; and Child Find referrals. Oversees audiology, nursing, OT, PT, school psychology, speech, Medicaid, and transition. Recruit, hire and evaluate staff, monitor staffing contracts; plan and provide professional development for staff; ensure delivery of all special education services as written in students' IEPs; and monitor service and billing documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Qualifications: Master's Degree or higher in education administration plus Bachelor's degree or higher in the field of special education or school psychology from an accredited college. Must have Five (5) years' experience supervising others who work with students with disabilities in a school setting. This position may require communication modalities dependent on employment placement.
