Fine Arts Preparatory School holds high standards for professionalism and scholarship. Physical Education Specialists help children develop physical abilities and healthy habits that can last for the rest of their lives. Physical Education Specialists are responsible for creating a classroom environment that fosters, promotes, and develops an understanding of the relationship between healthy body function and exercise; that motivates each student to cultivate physical fitness, and appropriate social and emotional adjustment; that discovers and develops talents of students in physical achievement; and that develops strength, skill, agility, poise, and coordination in individual, dual and team physical activities and sports, in accordance with each student’s ability. Physical Education Specialists must possess a repertoire of instructional skills to create an atmosphere that inspires learning and target instruction to support students in progressing toward key learning outcomes. Responsibilities include creating a flexible elementary classroom that promotes learning and personal growth, motivating students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge as well as developing understandings; and collaborating with learning support teachers and other specialists to plan integrated units and activities, discuss student learning, analyze and moderate student work, and to promote the educational needs of students. The absolute focus of educators employed by Fine Arts Preparatory School is on teaching and learning. Innovative and experiential lessons are expected, in addition to a loving and nurturing personality. We believe that every student is gifted and will treat each as such. Some evening and weekend duties may be required.

Since 1845, Limestone University has a history of leading the way in education. That dedication to learning continued in 2021, with Limestone University making the commitment to become one of the first institutions of higher education charter school authorizers in South Carolina. The University has created a separate entity, the Limestone Charter Association (LCA), to oversee daily operations of its charter schools, but will be an integral part of the Association.
The mission of LCA is to serve as the cornerstone of charter school authorizing in South Carolina and to facilitate a positive, educational environment that fosters school autonomy through support and oversight of its member schools. LCA believes it is an authorizer’s role to support and monitor the school and it is the school’s role to teach the children and make decisions in the best interest of its students. LCA will ensure:
- To maintain school autonomy at the highest level of priority. Charter school boards must always be given the authority to govern their schools without interference.
- To maintain timely and effective communication with each school and to provide school-desired support through mentoring, training, and resources.
- To employ personnel who have done the work, been in the trenches, and understand the day-to-day activities of a charter school.
- To authorize high quality schools and to provide appropriate guidance prior to and after charter approval. LCA recognizes each charter school is unique and will support them accordingly.
