DILLON SCHOOL DISTRICT FOUR JOB DESCRIPTION TITLE: COMPUTER TECHNICIAN QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor or Associate degree in Information Technology • Certification in technology repair (A+ certification desired) and/or equivalent job experience required • One – Three years’ experience in the field of Information Technology • Experience installing end-user computers systems and working as a technician is referred, but not required REPORTS TO: Director of Technology and Information Systems SUPERVISES: If applicable, as designated by Board, Superintendent, or School Administrator FUNCTION: To respond and be the first level of support for all technology hardware, software, server and network related problems. PERFORMANCE RESPONBSIBILTIES: • Prepares computers for installation and performs various configuration tasks. • Install, configure, and upgrade computer hardware, peripherals and software • Main duties include troubleshooting and diagnosing different technical issues, • Works with the team to troubleshoot computer issues. • Escalates unsolved issues to appropriate personnel based on established escalation criteria. • Knowledge of basic computer hardware and peripherals • Basic knowledge of educational and business software applications in order to support staff and students:  Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite  Performs required maintenance on all computer systems within the district  Common Internet Browsers  Performs troubleshooting (which may include Internet research and vendor contact) to correct computer hardware and software malfunctions • Basic Knowledge of basic networking concepts, devices and security • Support Interactive whiteboards in the classroom (Promethean desired) • Support student devices for district 1:1 initiative • Maintains and updates skills to remain proficient • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing • Ability to work with people • Ability to work independently in solving problems • Transportation is required to perform job functions TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 240 days LAST UPDATED: 8/11/2022 DISCLAIMER STATEMENT This job description is not intended as a complete listing of job duties.
