Duties: Implement and refine district approved curriculum and effective instructional strategies to meet the educational needs of students in small groups and individually. Ensure research-based programs are implemented with fidelity. Systematically gather, analyze, and use data to measure student progress; guide and differentiate instruction; and provide timely feedback. Use technology effectively to enhance student learning and to manage the classroom. Regularly assess and monitor student performance and achievement in the area of reading. Prioritize instructional time to maximize growth in student reading performance and achievement. Collaborate with classroom teachers regarding the reading strengths and needs of individual students in order to improve student reading performance and achievement across curricular content areas.
Qualifications: Hold SC Teacher License in Early Childhood, Elementary, or closely related field. Must hold a bachelor's degree or higher and a minimum, of the R2S Literacy Teacher endorsement; the R2S Literacy Coach or R2S Literary Specialist endorsement is preferred. Ability to implement appropriate communication modality and/or to acquire requisite skill.

The SC School for the Deaf and the Blind is the state's specialized school for students who are deaf or blind. The main campus is located in Spartanburg, but the school serves students statewide through its campus and outreach programs.
