Florence County School District Three, located in lower Florence County, is the second largest of the five school districts in the county. The district is at the midpoint between Columbia and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina - approximately 65 miles east of Columbia and 65 miles west of Myrtle Beach.

The Florence County School District Three System serves the communities of Lake City, Olanta, Scranton and Coward.  

The district is home to many well-known graduates, such as Challenger astronaut and physicist Dr. Ronald E. McNair, as well as many doctors, lawyers, educators, judges and business leaders.

A 9-member Board of Trustees, elected from seven single-member districts, governs the school district.

Major Responsibilities: Teaches skills, knowledge, and scientific attitudes through courses in technology education to students. Plans a technology education program involving demonstrations, lectures, discussions and student projects; optimizes activities for optimal learning. Teaches a variety of programs and software applications, as appropriate, to complete instructional and administrative tasks. Implement instructional activities that contribute to a positive environment where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences. Instructs students in citizenship and basic subject matter. Ensures that student growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate for age group, subject area, and/or program classification. Use formative and summative assessments in order to differentiate and improve instructional practices and strategies. Evaluates academic and social growth of students, prepares report cards, and keeps appropriate records on a regular basis and provides feedback to students and parents. Instructs students in the proper use, care and safe handling of equipment. Provides for safe storage and proper use of materials, equipment and tools. Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior for a productive learning environment. Meet program expectations for progress and parent/student communication. Minimum Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
