Duties : Consults with local school districts and agencies to assist in the assessment and instruction of students who are blind or visually impaired and to families, if required, in accordance with Parts B and C of IDEA. Assist local school districts or Statewide Early Intervention with the assessment of students who are blind or visually impaired and the reporting of educational and adaptive needs in the areas of cognition, literacy social, self-help and other areas specific to blindness. Works with families in the natural environment and local school districts to schedule lessons and provide itinerant instruction in Braille, use of residual vision, adaption of instructional materials and other unique needs of students with visual impairments.
Qualifications : Requires a Bachelor's Degree with SC Teacher Licensure in Visual Impairment and two years' experience working with students (birth to 21 years) who are blind or visually impaired. Must be able to work effectively...
