The Role Science teachers at Meeting Street Schools (MSS) combine the ability to motivate and educate, to develop academic as well as character skills, and to make a college preparatory education relevant both now and for the future. MSS teachers have a growth mindset and participate in rigorous professional development throughout the year, including:    Responsive Classroom   training, collaborative planning sessions, whole and small group school-wide focus professional development, team analysis of performance data and other personalized opportunities for teachers to grow. MSS teachers also have the opportunity to visit other high-performing elementary schools and universities to strengthen their practice as educators.  

The Role MSS Physical Education Teachers are responsible for planning a balanced physical education program; organizing games and challenges that promote physical activity; developing motor skills and physical development; promoting proper exercise and eating habits; developing character skills through explicitly and implicitly teaching the Path to Success Skills and Community Commitments. The Role Middle school teachers are   experienced and certified  educators teaching in a 6th to 8th grade classroom. MSS teachers combine the ability to motivate and educate, to develop academic as well as character skills, and to make a college preparatory education relevant both now and for the future. MSS teachers have a growth mindset and participate in rigorous professional development throughout the year, including:    Responsive Classroom   training,   Wit and Wisdom , collaborative planning sessions, whole and small group school-wide focus professional development, team analysis of performance data and other personalized opportunities for teachers to grow. MSS teachers also have the opportunity to visit other high-performing elementary schools and universities to strengthen their practice as educators.  

The Role Upper elementary teachers are experienced and certified educators teaching in a 3rd to 5th grade classroom. MSS teachers combine the ability to motivate and educate, to develop academic as well as character skills, and to make a college preparatory education relevant both now and for the future. MSS teachers have a growth mindset and participate in rigorous professional development throughout the year, including:    Responsive Classroom   training,   Eureka Math ,   Wit and Wisdom ,   Wilson’s Fundations , collaborative planning sessions, whole and small group school-wide focus professional development, team analysis of performance data and other personalized opportunities for teachers to grow. MSS teachers also have the opportunity to visit other high-performing elementary schools and universities to strengthen their practice as educators.  

The Role The bilingual (Spanish-English) receptionist helps to increase the academic achievement of both bilingual (Spanish-English) and English speaking children by facilitating communication between school staff, family members and students through oral and written translation, connecting families to district and community services and promoting more effective partnerships between home and school. This position is available on a PT or FT basis.
